THE 100K IS NOT AT ALL A BEGINNER LEVEL ULTRAMARATHON

This life-changing point-to-point 100k race features technical trails, long, steep climbs, and some very remote places. The course has approximately 16,500 feet of elevation gain accompanied by almost 19,000 feet of descent. It approximately 80% singletrack, much of which is quite technical. As with the other events in the Roadless Area, you will travel up to 11+ miles between aid stations. In keeping with the wilderness-like setting of the event, there will be minimal course markings. For many of you, this will be the hardest race you will have ever done. Knowing and fully understanding this is of the highest importance.

NOTE: We will be updating this page with more aid station details soon as we finalize the course!

Volunteer Service Requirements

There is a volunteer service requirement for the 2025 Dark Divide 100k. Recreation in our wild spaces and natural areas can and does have significant and sometimes damaging impacts on the places we explore and love. These impacts have become greatly magnified by the growth of our sport, the growth of outdoor recreation in general, and the ever present and often careless influence of social media. Please complete 8 hours of volunteer service in one of the activities below:

  • Habitat restoration (e.g. native plantings, invasive species removal, watershed enhancement projects, natural area clean-up).

  • Trail building, repair, or restoration.

  • Volunteer activities that enable inclusivity and access to outdoor activities and opportunities for underrepresented, marginalized, groups and/or children.

YOUR EIGHT (8) SERVICE HOURS MUST BE COMPLETED AND DOCUMENTATION SUBMITTED BY CHECK-IN FOR THE 2025 RACE!

Thank you for reading this. Thank you for doing your part in making the Dark Divide 100k a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and rewarding experience for yourself, other runners, volunteers, search & rescue, and race staff. Thank you for doing your part to help preserve and protect our wild spaces, and helping others to do the same.
